The Concept Behind Madurasa’s Inverted Bottle Packaging
Along with increasing public awareness for healthy living, especially in the midst of a pandemic, the trend of consumption of products made from natural ingredients such as honey has also increased. A variety of honey is available in the market today, ranging from imported honey with relatively high prices to more affordable local honey.
Honey has many benefits, including increasing stamina and maintaining body immunity, caring for beauty and enriching the taste of drinks and food. To encourage honey consumption among Indonesians, Madurasa, a local honey group from Combiphar which has been in Indonesia for 37 years, launched an innovative new packaging in the form of an ergonomic inverted bottle to enhance the customer experience.
Combiphar President Director Michael Wanandi said, in line with Combiphar’s commitment to building a healthy young generation or ‘Championing a Healthy Tomorrow’, the company is trying to continue to enrich its portfolio in the preventive segment.
“Among others, the joining of Jamu Air Mancur and Madurasa with the large family of the Combiphar Group from 2019. This is in line with the trend of healthy lifestyles that have developed in the community since the last few years, and have increased again since the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Michael during the launch of the new Madurasa packaging, at the Food Society, Kota Kasablanka Mall, Wednesday (12/1).
“We are committed to developing Jamu Air Mancur and Madurasa so that they are always relevant to the needs and tastes of consumers through various innovations. This inverted bottle packaging is one of them,” he emphasized.
Combiphar Commercial Head Edy Haryanto said that one of the valuable lessons learned by the community during the pandemic was the importance of maintaining body immunity through a healthy lifestyle. Among other things, he said, by consuming honey as part of daily life.
One of the problems that consumers often experience when consuming honey, said Edy, is the difficulty of removing the entire contents of the product from the packaging when the product is almost finished. There is a lot of honey residue that sticks to the inner side of the packaging which is difficult to remove, and ends up being wasted along with the bottle.
“Recognizing this, Madurasa is now presenting an innovative new packaging, namely with the bottle position upside down. Madurasa is the first local honey brand in Indonesia to launch an inverted bottle, which has two main advantages over ordinary bottles, namely, it is practical because it is easy to grip and press, and has an anti-spill valve that allows consumers to enjoy Madurasa to the last drop,” he said. .
“This new bottle is available for Madurasa Murni and Madurasa Premium in sizes of 160 grams and 280 grams. Madurasa Premium contains Royal Jelly and Bee Pollen which has a dual function to maintain health and beauty, while Madurasa Murni is a combination of randu, forest and longan honey which has The distinctive aroma and delicious taste function to maintain health and stamina,” he said.
Marking the launch of this inverted bottle packaging, Madurasa held a series of educational activities on January 12-16, 2022 in Kota Kasablanka, Central Jakarta. With the theme “Behind for Good”, in this activity there will be a talk show session on parenting by social media activist Citra Ayu, entrepreneurship for mothers (MomsPreneur) by Najla Bisyir, nutrition for children by Dr Mira Afrizal and various food creations using honey by Chef Devina Hermawan.
In addition, in order to promote a healthy lifestyle, this year Combiphar and Madurasa also provide support to one of the IBL basketball teams, West Bandits Combiphar Solo.
